Frances Merta

Frances Marie Fojtik Merta, 58, of El Campo, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.

She was born April 10, 1949 in Cuero to John and Lillie Mitchon Fojtik. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Merta of El Campo; sister, Annie Fojtik; two aunts and one uncle, numerous nieces and nephews; and goddaughters, Melissa Koenig and Kathleen Fojtik Overstreet.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Johnny Fojtik.

A parish rosary was recited Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be offered today, Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Kevin Pavlas, Michael Balcar, Larry Hickl, Steven Konvicka, Brandon Fojtik, Bennie Mitchon, Michael Mitchon and Mark Mitchon.
