Ten Red Wave swimmers came home from the 2008 Winter Games of Texas a little heavier than they left.
Weighed down by gold, silver and bronze, El Campo's swimmers brought back 28 total medals from the event held Jan. 19 in Frisco.
Along with the first, second and third-place finishes, a few even broke Winter Games records.
Matthew Wilkins, Tayton Priesmeyer, Casey Green and Blake Krpec combined for a 2:41.61 time in the Boys 9-10 200-yard medley relay. They just beat out the previous record of 2:42.12 set the previous year.
Brooke Krpec and Ivy Willis joined with two girls from the Dallas area and set a new record in the Girls 8 and Under 100-yard medley relay. Their time of 1:28.50 broke a 2-year old record of 1:35.67.
Blythe Nava set an individual record in the Girls 13-14 100-yard butterfly with a 1:08.34 time. The former record was 1:08.53 set in last year's games.
The following is a list of El Campo's results from the 2008 Winter Games in order by age group. In the events where Red Wave members combined with swimmers from other areas on relays, the team is referred to as "Combined."
