City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

Adam Christopher Gilbert, 26, of Athens, Ga. was arrested at 2:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 on a charge of driving while intoxicated (second offense). He was released at 11:15 a.m. the same day on $5,000 bond.

Ryan Dwayne Bell, 20, of Houston was arrested at 2:29 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 on charges of possession of 2 ounces or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transferred to Wharton County Jail the next day.

Property

Michael George Bauer Jr., 22, of 1907 Wayne was arrested at 10:18 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 on charges of theft under $50, public intoxication and littering. He remained in custody at presstime.

Tina Sue Elam, 46, of Marshall was arrested at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 on a Brazos County warrant for theft. According to police, she'd gone into a convenience store alleging her boyfriend had assaulted her, and asked police for a ride when they discovered she had an outstanding warrant. Elam was transferred to county jail the next day.

Violence, weapons

Norris Dentra Holloway, 23, of 1007 Palacios was arrested at 7:04 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 on a Wharton County warrant for assault bodily injury - family violence, two warrants for failure to appear and warrants for defective license plate light, no driver's license and public intoxication. She was transferred to county jail the next day.

Mario Moreno, 45, of Haltom was arrested at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 while in custody on other charges at the Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth on an El Campo PD warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child. He remained in custody at presstime.

Santiago Jimmy Contreras Jr., 36, of 310 W. Hillje was arrested at 9:33 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 on two warrants for no insurance, warrants for making alcohol available to a minor, failure to appear and no driver's license and charges of expired driver's license, no insurance and running a stop sign. He was released the next day after paying $2,569.33 in fines.

Lawrence Esquivel Melchor, 24, of 502 N. Richmond Rd. in Wharton was arrested at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 on warrants for failure to appear, no insurance, no driver's licenses and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle and two warrants for public intoxication. He was transferred to county jail the same day and released after paying $2,591.92 in fines.

County Jail Bookings Alcohol, drugs

Jesse Garcia, 20, of 1703 Olivia was booked Saturday, Jan. 26 for driving while intoxicated and failure to stop and give information. He was released the same day on $5,000 bond.

Property

Susan M. Crume, 43, of 1448 CR 465 in El Campo was booked at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 for five counts of theft by check and five counts of issuing a bad check. She was released the same day.

Daniel Carroll, 38, of 612 Lundy was booked at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 for theft by check and two counts of issuing a bad check. He was released the next day on $4,000 bond.

Leslie Lynn Wallace, 37, of 711 Grace was booked Friday, Jan. 25 for theft. She was released the same day on $1,000 bond.

Jail population as of 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 was 99 prisoners.
