Police Blotter City Arrests Alcohol, drugs Jose Nicasio Avendano, 32, of 1405 Beach was arrested at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 on a charge of driving while intoxicated, after being stopped for turning too wide, overcorrecting, swerving, then hitting a curb. He was transferred to Wharton County Jail the same day and released on $1,500 bond. Rebecca Gallardo Sanchez, 45, of 1218 Muncy was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 on a charge of driving while intoxicated, after being stopped for stopping past the white line at a stop sign. She was released the next day on $1,500 bond. Jose Ascencio Martinez-Lopez, 28, of 1605 Bravo was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4 on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while license invalid or revoked, expired registration and no insurance, two warrants for failure to appear, a warrant for public intoxication and a citation for open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. He was transferred to county jail the next day. Property Two 15-year-old El Campo boys were arrested at 6:12 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 on a charge of graffiti under $500 after police allegedly caught them spray-painting the concession building at Alamo Park, 103 Alamo. Both boys were released to their parents. Violence, weapons Jose Herrera Jr., 50, of 110 W. Fifth was arrested at 12:18 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 on charges of resisting arrest, search or transport and public intoxication. Police allegedly saw him leaving a night club with two wine coolers and a beer and determined he was intoxicated. He allegedly fought them when they tried to arrest him and officers used pepper spray to subdue him. He was released at 10:45 a.m. the same day on $3,000 bond. Public intoxication: 14. Vandals did $550 damage to a window and room. Ronald Ormand reported unauthorized use of a motor vehicle between 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 and 2:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at 613 Merchant. Thieves allegedly stole a Ford worth $10,000, a .308 Winchester with scope worth $700, a .283 Winchester with scope worth $700 and a 12- gauge Mossberg shotgun worth $300. Violence, weapons A 60-year-old El Campo man reported aggravated robbery in the 100 block of E. West between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. A person armed with a handgun took $150 from the victim. County Jail Bookings Alcohol, drugs Abraham Guillen, 22, of 508 Progress in Edna was booked into Wharton County Jail at 11:39 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 for possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication and bond forfeiture. He was held on $3,000 bond as of 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. Jorge Gutierrez, 31, of HC 62, Box 137-C in El Campo was booked at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 for possession of a controlled substance, bond forfeiture and theft by check. He was held as of 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. Ernestine Cantu Garcia, 40, of HC 62, Box 137-C in El Campo was booked at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 for possession of a controlled substance and no driver's license. She was released at 2:58 a.m. the same day on $8,500 bond. Kaylan Marie Gangl, 18, of 303 Calhoun was booked at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 for driving while intoxicated. She was released at 12:30 p.m. the same day on $1,500 bond. Property Jennifer Williamson, 36, of 1730 Ave. C was booked at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 for theft. She was released at 9 a.m. the next day on $1,500 bond. Violence, weapons Rene Guajardo Jr., 34, of 606 Live Oak in Blessing, was booked at 3:53 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1 on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was held as of noon the same day on $100,000 bond. Other Inez Arismendez, 30, of 1118 N. Liberty was booked Saturday, Feb. 2 for bond forfeiture and capias pro fines.
