      Cub Scout Pack 196 is putting the final touches on its annual bake sale-fundraiser. Money generated will stay within the pack and be used for all activities in the coming year. The bake sale, which is their main fundraiser, will be held Monday, Feb. 11 at the American Legion starting at 6:30 p.m.

      James L. Cannell of El Campo was among the 1,100 students being named to the dean's list at West Texas A&M University in Canyon. Those named to the dean's list must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99 and carry a minimum of 12 undergraduate hours.
