Bennie Kinder

Bennie L. "Sonny" Kinder, 82, of El Campo, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008.

He was born Feb. 23, 1925 in Waco to Thomas Irvin and Ella Diver Kinder. Mr. Kinder retired from Texaco after 35 years of service and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Struska Kinder of El Campo; sons, Bennie Charles Kinder of Chandler, Ariz., Joseph Irvin Kinder of Magnolia, Gary Donald Kinder of Missouri City and Phillip Dale Kinder of El Campo; step-sons, Roy Anderson and Jerry Anderson, both of West Columbia; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Velma Kinder, Eula Hejl, Nancy Collins and brother, Cecil Kinder.

Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Hobbins and the Rev. Jim Lane officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
