GETTING IT STRAIGHT

El Campo resident and former State Rep. Jack Fisk is a retired four-star general as reported in the Saturday, Feb. 2 edition of the Leader-News.

But he earned that post with the Texas State Guard - not the Texas National Guard.

Fisk is the only person to earn the honor.

The State Guard is one of three branches of Texas' military forces, under the command of the governor. The Texas Army National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard are the other two.
