Reyna named CDA Valentine Sweetheart
"She is worthy of this honor," said Regent Terri Beltran. "She is a hard worker and a dedicated member. She is one of our tortilla ladies. When we have the breakfast kitchen we start at 5:30 in the morning making 80 pounds of masa for the tortillas and she, along with two other members, make the dough for the taquitos. We couldn't do it without her." Reyna and her late husband Joe have four grown children: John Reyna, age 44; Gloria Contreras, age 43; Robert, age 39; and Joe Anthony Reyna, age 38. She has been a member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Robert's for five years. Another CDA honor she holds is "Angel of the Month." Being a member of the local court has special significance for Reyna. "I like to be able to help others, to be able to interact with other members," she said. "It also helps my mind from worrying and also keeps me busy. It makes me feel good that I am still able to help out any way I can." Other interests include cooking for church events and for her family, gardening and other outside activities. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and doing crossword puzzles. |
