Gadabouts donate goods

Members of the Nada/ Garwood Gadabouts sponsored a free food distribution Thursday. Feb. 7, at the Garwood Fire Department parking lot.

Donors opened their freezers and pantries to provide donations of more than 250 pounds of beef, pork, chicken, sausage and ham and many boxes of canned vegetables, fruits and jellies which were distributed to more than 20 families of the Nada and Garwood area.

Also, over more than 100 pounds of fresh grapefruit and kumquats were distributed. Those receiving the food expressed their appreciation for the generosity of the Gadabouts.

Pauline Solomon, Catherine Berger, Katie Jo Kunz, Rowdy Kunz, Helen Noteboom and Leon and Anita Meismer collected the donations and arrived early to set up for the distribution. Many others also shared their goods for the distribution.
