Olin Boone

Olin Arnold Boone, 69, of El Campo, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 after a lengthy illness.

He was born on April 24, 1938 in Eastland to William and Lora Money Boone. He served in the U.S. Army in 1956-1959. Mr. Boone moved to El Campo in 1999 after retiring from hay farming and raising cattle in Garden City. He was in the oilfield for 25 years prior to farming.

Survivors include his wife, Earlene Pahamas Boone; sons, Arnold Boone Jr. of Carrollton, Ga. and Glynn Boone of Mary Ester, Fla.; daughter Patricia Bruton and husband Paul of El Campo; grandchildren, Casey Boone, Mary Trochta, Airman Arnold Boone, Melissa Boone, Lacricia, Candice and Clayton Bruton; sister, Virgie Smith of Phoenix, Ariz. and brother, Hollis Boone of Lamesa; and three great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Support, Inc., the VA Hospital or the DAV.
