Spenrath, CDC executive director, the agency's board during their Tuesday meeting will consider hiring Hawes Hill Calderon LLP. That group provides professional consulting services to municipal governments, community organizations, private development interests, and real estate investment trusts on public policy, economic development, infrastructure, mobility and public/private financing.

"They may do an economic study for us, an economic analysis of the city," Spenrath said. "They are the same group who did the Nightingale project, to put the new homes in where the old hospital was."

Hawes' group helped the city with a Tax Increment Finance Zone which paid for Nightingale demolition prior to CEN-TEX home construction.

If the board approves the move, the matter would also have to get the approval from City Council, since the cost would be greater than $25,000.

The board will also go into closed executive session to discuss economic development negotiations, talk to its attorney about legal matters, discuss real estate negotiations and continue talking with Spenrath about her goals.

If any action is taken on those items, it will occur in a subsequent open session.

The board meeting begins at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 in the Northside Education Center conference room, 707 Fahrenthold. CDC board meetings are open to the public.
