IMUD directors preparing for May election
By BRENDA SOMMER bsommer@leader-news.com

The upcoming election for three board positions will be on the minds of Isaacson Municipal Utility District directors when they meet Tuesday.

Terms are up for three of the five-member board: Board President Floyd Fisher and directors Joe Juroska Jr. and Floyd Shimek. All three have signed up to stay on the board, according to Wanda Evanicky, IMUD general manager.

The regular meeting - rescheduled from Valentine's Day - is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the district's office at 403 N. Liberty, and directors' only new business revolves around the upcoming election.

Directors will consider appointing Evanicky as early voting clerk and Max Garza Jr. as election judge. As well, they will decide whether to let the election judge appoint an election clerk, or to do so themselves.

The only other new business on the board's agenda concerns replacing valves.

The election of directors will be held at the district's office, rather than at a location shared with other entities holding elections.

The IMUD office will be closed Monday, Feb. 18 in observance of President's Day.
