SPJST award-winning producers receive recognition for year's work
      The 15th Annual SPJST Lodge Recognition and Incentive Awards Banquet was held Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center in Killeen. SPJST's Rhythm '07 membership campaign was accomplished successfully in 2007 and numerous awards and incentive prizes were given during the day.

      As the second half of the school year begins, high schools students are dreaming of college campuses, dorm rooms and most of all tuition. A higher education is crucial in today's society, but not all students are able to pursue their dreams without the help of scholarships.

      Hillje-Louise 4-H Club Hillje-Louise 4-H Club members gathered Monday, Feb. 11 at Wharton County Electric Coop. President Kelsey Supak called the meeting to order. Colleen Mauch recited the pledge to the flag and Megan Socha recited the 4-H pledge. Socha also gave the treasurer's report.

      Jasmine Galindo Norma Dominguez and Jose Galindo of El Campo announce the birth of their second child, a daughter named Jasmine Esmeralda Galindo. The baby was born at 1:14 a.m., Feb. 12, 2008 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton, weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces.
