Golf teams perform at Columbia

El Campo's sub-varsity boys and girls teams competed at Columbia Lakes Feb. 5 in an invitational golf tournament hosted by West Columbia High School.

The teams took on opponents from Foster, Bay City, Angleton, Edna and other schools and came through competitively.

Colton Kallina led the Ricebirds with a 93-stroke total while Tanner Howard shot 95, Nick Gutierrez shot 96 and Coy Radley shot 111 on the course.

Samantha Benge was the top Lady 'Bird by shooting 105. Paige Wallace shot 126 and Jamie Limmer shot 128 at the invitational.

El Campo's boys and girls teams traveled to Sealy Monday to play at Stephen F. Austin Country Club in a tournament hosted by Wharton.

The Ricebirds and Lady 'Birds have two more competitions remaining in February. Lamar Consolidated ISD will host a meet Monday at River Pointe Golf Club in Richmond. Feb. 25, the Lady 'Birds will host a tournament at El Campo Country Club.
