Residents entertained at domino tournaments

February domino parties hosted by the Dubby Rod family and Bennie and Patsy Reck were held on two different occasions for residents of the Czech Catholic Home.

The Rods sponsored a tournament Feb. 4 in honor of their father, Edwin Rod, for his birthday. For the Feb. 11 party hosted by the Recks, guests and residents from Avalon Place also participated in the tournament.

Residents played straight domino, teams of two and double elimination tournaments.

The Rods provided prizes for those who placed first through third. The Rod family also provided snacks and drinks.

First place went to Willie Henkes and Jerome Novak; second place winners were Lillian Reck and Mary Sohrt. Third place team was Bernard Hrncir and Edwin Rod.

For the event sponsored by the Recks, first place went to Houston Plunket and Morris Morales. Second went to Steve Smith and George Limas, and third place team went to Lillian Reck and Edwin Rod.

Others participating were Dorothy Rod, Evelyn Fikac, Dorothy Rod, Theresa Schroder, Al Kutac, Frankie Harbus, Bernard Hrncir, Jerome Novak and Joe Chomout. Other residents enjoyed watching.

Visitors from Avalon Place were Houston Plunket, Joe Benavidez, Celeste Lewis, Morris Morales, Joseph Biondo, Steve Smith, Henry Valerio and volunteer George Limas. Others enjoyed watching.

The Recks also provided prizes, snacks and drinks.
