Dagny Sisco

Dagny Andersen Thyssen White Sisco, 84, of Round Rock, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008.

She was born on April 26, 1923 in Branderup, Hadersler amt, Synder-Jylland, Denmark to Peter Andersen Thyssen and Johanna Marie Andersen Thyssen.

In late 1930 her family immigrated to Danevang to join two of her father's brothers, Marius and Carl Thyssen and their families. She attended the first 8 years of school at Danevang and then completed high school at Sugar Land. Later she attended Southwestern Business College in Houston and much later, Central Wyoming Junior College in Riverton, Wyo.

She married James Brady White in Danevang in March of 1942 and moved with him to his flight training bases in Chickasha, Okla., San Antonio, Lake Charles, La., and Pinellas, Fl. Dagny was with him in Florida when he was killed in an airplane crash in May of 1944. She then married Louis Shannon Sisco on May 25, 1957.

Dagny was active in the communities in which she lived. She was a Gold Star Wife, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and held many offices at the local, district and state levels.

She served more than 50 years as a volunteer at the Ardmore Veterans Center. She was active in the Insurance Women of Ardmore, AARP, The Gideon Auxiliary, the Baptist churches she attended, the bowling league, and the schools her children attended. She was saved in the First Baptist Church of Vanderbilt in July 1943 and was active in the Baptist churches in both Wilson and Ardmore. She lived in the Ardmore/ Wilson, Okla. area until 2001.

She is survived by daughters, Karen Snow and husband Gary of Houston Ariz. and Dixie Sisco of Canton, Ga.; son, Terry Sisco and wife Ginger of Carrolton; sister, Margi Lage and husband Al of Dallas; brother, Sigurd Thyssen and wife Patty of Tomball; sisterin laws, Mary Thyssen of Stafford and Jean White Dockall and husband Charles of Kingsland; grandsons, Shannon Christopher Sisco, Jeffery Paul Kidneigh and wife Jennifer, and Darrell Dunlap; granddaughter, Valerie Marie Snow and husband N.T. Tran, and great-grandson, Dane Michael Kidneigh. There are also numerous Thyssen, White and Sisco cousins, nieces and nephews, and many sisters and brothers in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands James Brady White and Louis S. Sisco, sister Heinede Harton, brother A.P. "Andy" Thyssen, sister in law Evelyn Thyssen, aunts and uncles, Marius and Helga Thyssen and Carl and Ida Thyssen; in-laws, J.R. and Elsie White and Ida Sisco.

Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Danevang Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Danevang Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Abraham Peralta, Michael Swope, Shannon Sisco, N. T. Tran, Darrell Dunlap, Michael Sullivan, Tim Longest and Jeff Kidneigh.

Memorial donations may be made to the donors choice.
