Relay for Life team grateful for help Editor, the Leader-News:

The Lifesavers Relay for Life Team from Mid Coast Medical Clinic/El Campo Memorial Hospital would like to say a big 'Thank You' to everyone who supported our baked potato meal fundraiser at Country Pride. All money raised goes to the American Cancer Society. Thanks to the guys at Country Pride who catered the meal and all the volunteers.

Trustees thanked for approving upgrades Editor, the Leader-News:

It seems for months the community has been debating the issue of installing field turf at Ricebird Stadium, and replacing the track. The ECISD school board recently voted on and approved these items, as well as the renovation of the high school science building. I'd like to take this time to say 'Thank You' to the school board for making choices that will benefit the students of ECISD. I'm looking forward to the fall when Ricebirds fans pack the stadium and can take pride in the new field and track.
