COURT REPORTS Allegations of car theft as well as accusations of drunken driving will have several people facing felony trials following February deliberations of the Wharton County Grand Jury. All of those indicted by the grand jury remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The indictment is a citizen jury ruling that a prosecutor has enough evidence to proceed with felony level charges. Those indicted include: • Carlos Arturo Carrasco, 20, of 3502 Cedar in Victoria for tampering with a governmental record. He allegedly falsified a Texas identification card on Dec. 14, 2007. • Darrel Edwards Jr., 26, of 1317 Bailey in Wharton for delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. He allegedly attempted to sell between 4 and 200 grams of cocaine within 1,000 feet of Wharton's Dawson Elementary School on Oct. 3, 2007. Edwards has prior felony convictions for escape, robbery and possession of a controlled substance. • Larry Falcon, 45, of 409 Mayfield in El Campo for driving while intoxicated third or more offense. He allegedly drove drunk on Sept. 28, 2007. Falcon has two prior misdemeanor DWI convictions as well as felony convictions for robbery and burglary of a habitation. • Jose Aurelio Forero, 47, of 12430 Plumbrook in Houston for driving while intoxicated third or more offense. He allegedly drove drunk Sept. 25, 2007. Forero has two prior felony DWI convictions as well two felony convictions "relating to the operating of a motor vehicle while intoxicated." • Monica Garcia, 27, of 1508 Mimosa in Victoria for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She allegedly stole a vehicle on Oct. 22, 2007. Garcia has a prior felony conviction for debit card abuse. • Daniel Joseph Gonzales, 18, of 310 Newport in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine on Sept. 4, 2007. • Charles Emmit Jackson, 46, of 1701 Braxton Road in Kendleton for credit card abuse. He allegedly used another person's credit card without permission on Feb. 24, 2007. • Hector Juarez, 24, of 9515 W. Gulf Bank Road #141 in Houston for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine on June 17, 2007. • Sharon Ruth Llanes, 44, of 1311 Kingston in Wharton for assault family violence enhanced. She allegedly struck a male family member on Oct. 27, 2007. Llanes has a prior conviction for family violence. • Michael Martinez, 22, of 505 Pierce in El Campo for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. He allegedly drove drunk Sept. 1, 2007 with a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle. • Michael Mark Martinez, 39, of 103 Cowboy Lane in Bertram for endangering a child and possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of methamphetamine on Oct. 14, 2007 and failed to keep it inaccessible to a child thereby placing that child in danger. • Robert Sean Muniez, 21, of 1717 Briar Lane #808 in Wharton for injury to a child. He allegedly harmed a girl under the age of 15 on Aug. 4, 2007. • Michael Neal, 48, of 411 Oak Terrace in Kendleton for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. He allegedly had less than one gram of cocaine within 1,000 feet of Wharton's Dawson Elementary School on Oct. 24, 2007. • Jacob Nichols, 21, of 4417 FM 1300 in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine on Nov. 20, 2007. • Kirk Nichols, 19, of 4417 FM 1300 in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine on Nov. 20, 2007. |
