Police Blotter City Arrests Alcohol, drugs Gina Marie Escamilla, 20, of Harlingen was arrested at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free school zone. Escamilla was a passenger in a car with an expired inspection certificate stopped in a school parking lot. She allegedly had three Vicodin pills in her purse for which she did not have a prescription. She was transferred to Wharton County Jail the next day and released at 10:45 a.m. that same day on $5,000 bond. A 12-year-old El Campo boy was arrested at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 while at El Campo Middle School for possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana in a drug-free zone after police allegedly found a marijuana cigarette in a packet of colored pencils. He was released the same day to the custody of a relative. Violence, weapons Joash Solis, 21, of 1513 Bravo was arrested at 10:13 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 on a charge of evading arrest or detention, a Wharton County warrant for probation violation - aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, three Wharton County warrants for probation violation - burglary of a habitation and warrants for minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage and disorderly conduct - language. He wasa transferred to county jail the next day. Other Jacinto Gonzalez Medrano, 35, of 1014 E. Calhoun was arrested at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 on a warrant for public intoxication and charges of speeding and driving while license invalid or revoked. He was released the same day after paying $853.83 in fines. City Incidents Property Diana Macias reported burglary of a habitation at 403 Ave. I between noon and 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27. Burglars took a $20 red Lady 'Birds bag; a $450 iPhone; an xBox 360 game console, two controllers and nine games worth $1,100 total; and 20 DVDs worth $400. County Jail Bookings Property Angel Bundali, 24, of 1807 Ave. C was booked at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 for class B theft and capias pro fines. She was held on $2,500 bond as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28. Other Elisa Estrada, 51, of P.O. Box 1151 in El Campo was booked Friday, Feb. 22 for bond forfeiture. She was released at 9:30 a.m. the same day on $10,000 bond.
Daryl Anderson, 54, of 1819 CR 257 in Eagle Lake was booked at 7:21 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 on warrants for child endangerment and criminal mischief. He was released at 10 a.m. the same day on $30,000 bond. Jail population as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 was 91 prisoners.
