Walter Snider

Walter Carroll Snider, 66, of Louise, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008.

He was born March 20, 1941 in Bay City to Julius and Voy Dell Paulk Snider.

Walter graduated from Calhoun ISD in 1959, served in the U. S. Air Force and then graduated from Sul Ross University. He was a teacher and coach at Tidhaven ISD, El Campo ISD and then Louise ISD where he retired. Walter was currently employed at Inteplast, Inc. in Lolita.

He was an honorary member of Louise Volunteer Fire Dept., Retired Teachers Association and a Board Member of the First United Methodist Church of Louise. His favorite pastime was hunting for arrow heads.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Mae Schneider Snider of Louise; daughters, Danita Henderson and husband Jeff of Angleton and Gayle Sidwell and husband David of Spring; grandchildren, Joshua Marek of Austin, Phillip Marek of Norman, Okla., Ryan Rackley of Spring, Alyssa Rackley of Spring, Timothy Henderson of Angleton and Toria Henderson of Angleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Oliver Kenneth Snider.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 29 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in El Campo with the Rev. Patti Herndon and the Rev. Rick DuBroc officiating. Interment followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Steve Koch, Dennis Goehke, Robin Taylor, John Stockton, Robert Hrncir, George Matthews, Gerald Johnson and Freddy Valentine.

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Sappington, Gus Vajdos and George Daniel Hill.

Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Louise or to the donor's choice.

Services were under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home, 612 W Jackson, El Campo, TX 77437, 979-543- 3512.
