EC takes on Wharton Tourney
Ricebirds get tough start in tournament with Brahmas

      The Ricebirds had a tough run in with the Bellville Brahmas Thursday to start the Wharton Baseball Tournament. El Campo fell 2-1 in a game where the 'Birds' bats could have used a boost. "We waited too long to get some hits and score one run," Kerry Brandl, head coach of the Ricebirds, said.

EC Lady 'Birds improving throughout soccer season

      Her first year coaching El Campo girls soccer was stressful at first, but a few games into the season and Tala Allen is loving her new sport. At the beginning of the season, she said it was difficult coaching through rain and 40-degree temperatures.

Strong pitching helps ladies win

      The Lady Ricebirds can win the close ones. In a softball game filled with strong pitching on both sides, El Campo was able to hold off Sweeny for a 2-1 win Tuesday. So far this season, the Lady 'Birds have several one-run wins, including two in the El Campo tournament last week.

Junior Varsity Ricebirds start baseball season 3-0
      El Campo's junior varsity baseball team made a great start to the year, winning their first three games. The Ricebirds were never really challenged against St. Joseph, Needville or Wharton and rolled to a 3-0 record. EC vs. St.

      A seventh-grade girl walks the halls of El Campo Middle School with the look of a national champion. She does not brag or boast. Malikka Sanford-Tolden only smiles to show her pride and speaks softly about her love for track competition.

      El Campo's junior varsity softball team earned a pair of nice wins over Columbia and Sweeny lately.
