SPJST youth to volunteer for events Members of SPJST Lodge No. 30 Taiton Youth Club met Sunday morning, March 2 at the Taiton Community Center. The meeting was called to order by President Kenna Bubela. It was noted members have completed their March Vestnik projects. In old business, the leadersin training camp will be held June 6-8 at Forest Glen. Join Hands Day is May 3. The club project of a painted sign for the Taiton Community Center was completed. The District 6 spring meeting was also held Sunday with Lodge 30-Taiton hosting the event. Members were reminded to participate in the egg decorating contest. In new business, Lodge 30- Taiton appreciation banquet will be held April 6. Members are to arrive at 9:30 a.m. to decorate. Bubela reviewed the newsletter. She reminded members about working at the cake walk booth at the St. John's Altar Society chicken dinner March 9 and at the Taiton Community Center for the annual Easter egg hunt March 16. Dorotik talked about summer activities, the District 6 camp and rule book changes that will begin in June. Members read their poems and door prizes were exchanged. The next meeting will be April 6 at the Taiton Community Center at 10 a.m. The craft will be to bring a red, white and blue table centerpiece containing a live plant. For the charity project the centerpieces will be given away as door prizes. The meeting ended with a motion to adjourn made by Stephanie Fucik and seconded by Ryan Drapela. |
