Amanda Lynn Henke of El Campo and Kyle David Henke, stationed in the Army in South Korea, announce the birth of their first child, a son named Steven David Henke. The baby was born at 3:13 p.m., March 1, 2008 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton, weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces.

Maternal grandparents are Terry and Debra Sabrsula of El Campo. Paternal grandparent is Melissa Quick of Wisconsin.

Great-grandparents are Ruben and Madeline Sabrsula of El Campo, Larry and Jan Engler of Topeka, Kan., and Clarice Tlowman of Wisconsin.

The mother is the former Amanda Lynn Martin.
