Baby shower held for expectant couple

Stacy Svatek Chavez and Matt Chavez were honored with a couples' family baby shower Sunday evening, March 9 at the home of Stephanie and Jim Powers at 1803 Roberts.

Hostesses were Andrea Reck, Stephanie Powers, Ramona Ohl and Darlene Brown.

The patio and recreational room were decorated throughout with "It's a Boy" decorations. The refreshment table held several finger foods and had a large diaper cake in the middle. A meal of enchiladas, rice and beans was served. Dessert was a teddy bearshaped cake.

Special guests were parents of the mother-to-be, Kenneth and Bej Svatek; and mother of the father-to-be, Judy Chavez, all of Palacios; aunts and uncles: Wanda and Allen Krpec of Taiton and Jimmy Svatek of Louise; cousins: Kim Krpec of Taiton, Lindsey and Karolyne Brown, Olivia and Odessa Ohl of Rosenberg and Sky and Chase Svatek of Louise and Bailey Powers. Special friend of the family R.L. Shelley also attended.

The hostess gift was baby items used as decorations throughout the party room.
