COURT REPORTS Prison and probationary terms were meted out in Wharton County's 329th District Court during February court hearings. Those pleading guilty and accepting punishment included: • Sharon Ruth Llanes, 44, of 1311 Kingston in Wharton for assault family violence enhanced. She was placed on four years deferred probation, fined $250 and ordered to perform 120 hours community service. • Alex Volino, 33, address unavailable for driving while intoxicated. He was sentenced to two years in prison with credit for 49 days already served. • Christopher Hawes, 22, of 7219 Foster Creek in Richmond for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on three years deferred probation, fined $200, ordered to pay $350 restitution and perform 60 hours community service. • Steven Escamilla, age unavailable, of 803 Cotton in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance and four counts of endangering a child. He was sentenced to nine years in prison with a concurrent two-year state jail term. Escamilla received credit for 180 days already served. A charge of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and a charge of theft of a firearm were set aside as part of the plea agreement. • Steven Neil Snyder, 36, of 385 Fifth in Van Vleck for theft. He was sentenced to six months in state jail with credit for 225 days already served. • John Steven Garcia, 27, address unavailable for three counts of theft. He was sentenced to six years in prison with credit for 90 days already served. • Rocky Ramirez Perez, 37, of 810 Hayden in El Campo for driving while intoxicated. He was sentenced to five years probation on the condition he serve 10 days in county jail and pay $250 restitution. Perez received credit for 10 days already served. • Aaron Joseph Mowels, 21, address unavailable for criminal attempt (tampering with physical evidence). He was sentenced to 90 day in county jail with credit for the full time already served. • Frank Mendiola Jr., 21, of 617 Washington in Wharton for burglary of a building. He was placed on five years deferred probation on the condition he serve 60 days in county jail, pay $5,000 restitution and perform 60 hours community service. Mendiola received credit for 60 days already served. • Gloria Soto Vera, 67, address unavailable for endangering a child. She was placed on two years deferred probation and fined $450. |
