Lady 'Birds topple Terry, show bat power
Seventh-inning home run blast leaves mark on EC bus

      El Campo's first district softball game was a huge win Wednesday. The Lady 'Birds topped Terry 15-4 in a game that featured some major bats. The Lady 'Birds' offensive explosion was complete with a home run that sailed over the fence and struck El Campo's bus in the parking lot.

EC, LHS named to all-district
      Several area basketball players earned post-season honors as members of their respective all-district teams. The Ricebirds, Lady 'Birds and Hornets all claimed several spots on first team, second team and honorable mention rosters.

Lady 'Birds receive all-state nods
      Even after swimming season, El Campo keeps earning awards. Meredith Bard, El Campo's lone swimmer to advance to the state meet, joined an elite group of swimmers as a member of the top 50 times in the girls 50-yard freestyle of Class 4-A.
