Parachute ride, trip to fish in auction

The silver tongues of auctioneers David Rose and possibly Billy Bode will be on hand Thursday evening to help El Campo Rotary Club supporters purchase many nice items donated by local businesses and individuals.

With high school proms coming up, how about a 4-hour limo ride from Coastal Limousine Services? Would be a good item for some junior-senior parents to bid on.

Another item someone might want to go in on with a buddy is a guided fishing trip for two with Saltwater Specialties.

Captain Tom Perilloux Jr. says you'll need more than one buddy for his boat. He's offering a guided fishing trip for four out of Matagorda, Palacios or Port O'Connor.

Looking for an aerial thrill? Huges Aero has thrown in a couple of power parachute rides leaving from the Wharton airport.

Dream Maker Lawn Service has donated three hours of lawn service and a gardening gift basket.

For those wanting to make their pickup truck "tough," Tough Country has donated a gift certificate for a brush guard, and Insane Racing has offered a short bed.

Need a flag to display? Flags flown over the U.S. Capitol and the Texas Capitol will be sold Thursday.

What's an auction without a handmade quilt? Cheri McGuirk has donated one for the auction.

Several sports related items will be available, but this might be a good year to get hold of an 8x10 photo of Roger Clemens signed by The Rocket himself.

The auction starts at 6 p.m. in the Main Hall of the El Campo Civic Center, and all proceeds benefit Rotary Club projects.
