Police Blotter City Arrests Alcohol, drugs A 14-year-old El Campo boy was arrested at 2:01 p.m. Friday, March 14 on a charge of possession of marijuana while at El Campo Middle School. An assistant principal allegedly found the drug in the boy's shoe. He was released the same day to the custody of a relative. Tommy Leroy Andrews, 22, of 209 W. First was arrested at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, March 15 on a charge of driving while intoxicated after an off-duty police officer saw him run a stop sign and nearly hit another vehicle. He was transferred to Wharton County Jail and released at 10:45 a.m. the same day on $2,000 bond. Property Miguel "Michael" Alfredo Garza, 36, of 210 N. Wharton was arrested at 2:17 p.m. Saturday, March 15 on two warrants for issuance of a bad check. He was released the same day after paying $870.42 in fines. Ma Guadalupe Tellez, 33, of 1702 U.S. 59 in El Campo was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Monday, March 17 on charges of theft and failure to identify after allegedly shoplifting a toaster and set of waffle plates from H-E-B, 306 N. Mechanic. She was transferred to county jail the next day. Other Anthony Adam Mendoza, 36, of 513 Milam in Wharton was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14 on charges of expired driver's license and expired trailer registration, a Wharton County warrant for failure to appear, warrants for violating the city's loud music ordinance, expired driver's license and speeding and two warrants for no insurance. He was transferred to county jail the next day then released to El Campo Police Department at 3:55 p.m. March 15. Sylvia Almanzar Najera, 47, of 1014 E. Calhoun was arrested at 11:57 p.m. Friday, March 14 on warrants for violating the city's loud music ordinance and disorderly conduct - fighting. She was released the next day after paying $498.88 in fines. Neil Anton Jurek, 28, of Ave. J and 10th in Markham was arrested at 12:25 a.m. Sunday, March 16 on a charge of criminal trespass. He was released at 10:05 a.m. March 16 on $2,000 bond. Christina Llanos, 19, of 809 N. Washington was arrested at 10:22 a.m. Monday, March 17 on charges of failure to identify - fugitive from justice and evading arrest and a warrant for operating an ATV on a public roadway. She was transferred to county jail the next day. A 12-year-old El Campo boy was arrested at 11:05 a.m. Monday, March 17 on warrants for criminal trespass and graffiti. City Incidents Property Jamie Olivares reported a burglary at 408 S. Mechanic between 6 and 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 7. Burglars kicked in a window and stole $400 in cash and a $70 jacket. Sharon Sifford reported theft of a $12,500 wedding ring set while at L-Nails, 1238 N. Mechanic, between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8. William Manske reported a burglary at 406 Ave. B between midnight Feb. 24 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8. Burglars stole cameras and computer equipment worth $2,949 and $40 in cash. Katherine Johnson reported a burglary at 307 Willis between 1 and 11 p.m. Saturday, March 8. Burglars kicked in a door and took $1,185 in computers and gaming gear and did $200 damage to the door.
