Amy Bressler has bridal shower at St. John's Parish

Amy Bressler, bride-elect of Philip Hlavaty, was honored with a miscellaneouse shower Sunday afternoon, March 16, at St. John's Parish Hall in New Taiton.

The registration table held the guest book, pen, the couple's engagement photo, candle and a crystal vase filled with fresh cut flowers on a white lace cloth.

Jessica and Allison Fucik, nieces of the future groom, registered the guests. The honoree's table held a silk floral arrangement with three candle-filled crystal votive cups.

The serving table was covered with a white cloth and centered with a crystal vase of two dozen white calla lilies and greenery accented by two crystal candle holders and tapered candles.

The beverage table was covered in a white cloth and held a brass candelabra with pink votive cups and candles. All floral arrangements were presented as gifts to the honoree.

Amy was presented with a corsage pinned on by her cousin Kakie Perdue of Sugar Land. Nancy Fucik, sister of the future groom, pinned a corsage on Jo Ann Hlavaty, mother of the future groom. Lara Hlavaty, sister-in-law of the future groom, read a toast to the honoree. Nancy Fucik registered the gifts. Assisting Amy in opening her gifts were Stephanie, Jessica and Allison Fucik.

Refreshments consisted of chicken salad sandwiches, chips, pickles, olives, mixed nuts, fruit tray with dip, vegetable tray with dip, Rotel cheese dip, cheese rolls, strudel and assorted cakes.

A special decorated cake was served by Connie Hlavaty, future groom's godmother. Lara Hlavaty served punch and Stephanie Fucik, niece of the future groom, served coffee.

Hostesses presented Amy with a $435 gift certificate for a stainless steel gas grill, a king size comforter set, KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer, Reed & Barton 210-piece flatware set and chest, Oneida 345-piece flatware set and a gift certificate to Merle Norman.

The couple will be married at 5 p.m., May 24, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Plano. A reception will be held in El Campo on June 21, 2008.
