Nada CDA host Easter party for Garden Villa residents

Nada Catholic Daughters Court Our Lady of the Rosary No. 1595 traveled to El Campo Thursday, March 13 to host an Easter party for the residents of Garden Villa Health Care Center.

Residents were treated to a songfest led by CDA apostolate chairwoman Bernice Kallina accompanied by pianist Leona Abell of Garwood and Charlie Merta of El Campo on accordion.

Nada CDA members attending and singing for the residents were Clara Gold, Gertrude Wied, Betty Leopold, Leona Brzozowski, Helen Noteboom, Kelly Korenek and Regent Anita Meismer.

Residents who celebrated birthdays during the month were recognized and all joined in singing "Happy Birthday" to Anton Sevick, Myrtle Wenglar, Emelia Hernandez, Celia Almaguer, Jewell Brister, Josephine Marquez, Amalie Roznovsky, Ida Mae Bloom and Ann Hollis. Pianist Leona Abell was also recognized. She observed her 90th birthday March 14.

Following the songfest residents were treated to refreshments of fruit kolaches, juice and coffee.

The Nada CDA members attending assisted with hostess duties.

They also thanked the following ladies who helped: Mary Mehnert, Josephine Knebel, Lillie Cervenka, Edna Krenek, Mildred Schmidt, Evelyn Dornak, Margaret Anderson and Betty Royston.

Members attending also enjoyed visiting with many of the health care residents.
