Conservation efforts harvesting bounty of success in Texas

Cattle prices stay down as rains return
      For the week ending March 8, feeder cattle prices at Texas auctions declined under pressure from high grain prices and increasing supplies of feedlotready cattle coming off wheat pasture. Fed cattle prices were also lower in response to lower beef prices and declining packer margins.

Exemption given for crane repellant
      The Texas Department of Agriculture has been granted approval by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to issue a Section 18 specific exemption allowing the use of anthraquinone (Avitec Liquid Seed Treatment) to repel sandhill crane from sweet and field corn seed.
