By BRENDA SOMMER bsommer@leader-news.com

A reward is being offered for information on the men who bashed open the door of an El Campo convenience store and fled with cigarettes and beer.

Around 12:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at least three men broke into the Han-DPak Drive-In store at 1110 Palacios.

The front glass door was shattered, which activated a silent alarm.

"Three males were last seen running away from the store," said El Campo Police Officer Cindy Howell, who is also coordinator for West Wharton County Crime Stoppers. "The two were described as wearing dark clothing and one was wearing a gray hooded shirt."

The burglars stole beer and cigarettes totaling almost $80. The glass door is valued at $500.

The investigator for the case is ECPD Detective David Howard.

If you have information on the suspects in this burglary, or other facts about this case, please call West Wharton County Crime Stoppers at 543-TIPS (543-8477) or Howard at 543-5311.

People with information about this crime can call Crime Stoppers and do not have to give their names to qualify for a reward. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictment of wanted felons.
