Lillian Bodungen

Lillian "Sue" Bodungen, formerly of El Campo, died Tuesday, March 18 at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston.

She was born April 15, 1930 in Schulenburg to Albert and Herminia Strelec. She was an active resident of the Heights Towers in Houston and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her children, Robert Shafter, Joyce Korenek and Gary Bodungen, all of El Campo; step-sons, Tom Bodungen and Tim Bodungen, both of El Campo; brother, Edwin Strelec of Edna; six grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bob Shafer and Willard Bodungen; and her brothers, Willie Strelec and Albert Strelec Jr.

Honoring her request, scientific research will be conducted by Baylor College of Medicine. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
