Louise girls win first home softball game

The Lady Hornets enjoyed a big win in their first home softball game. Louise crushed Moulton 7-1 to move to 4-8 overall and 1-1 in district competition.

By the bottom of the first inning, the game was already well in hand for the Lady Hornets. Louise came through with four runs to take a commanding lead.

Three more runs in the bottom of the second inning finished Louise's offensive production at seven runs.

Starting pitcher Cheyenne Collins held Moulton off to finish with a win. The BobKittens managed a run in the top of the seventh, but it was not near enough to challenge Louise.

The Lady Hornets held Moulton to one run and four hits in the game and committed only one defensive error. Collins had seven strikeouts on the night.

Kelsi Kutac, Jecenia Guevera and Katie Brown each scored a team-high two runs. Collins came through with a hit and brought in one RBI.

The Lady Hornets hosted Burton Thursday in their third district game of the year.
