Investments looking good

The investment policy for the city of El Campo was reviewed Thursday and finance officials received a pat on the back.

"(Finance Director) Courtney (Sladek) and (Financial Analyst) Willie (Gutierrez) are doing a good job," City Manager John Steelman said. "They are keeping up with them on a daily basis. It's good money management."

The city invests millions over the course of each year as millions are brought in via tax dollars and fees, stored and then paid out as expenses.

Other municipal funds are invested for longer terms as part of the city's fund balance.
