Mustangs top Ricebirds in late innings
      Late innings proved costly for the Ricebirds Thursday as El Campo fell to Lamar Consolidated 11-4 at Rosenberg. Lamar took an opening lead in the bottom of the second inning. Landon Appling, El Campo's starting pitcher, held off the Mustangs through the first out in the second inning.

Strength shows in Clements' comeback

      September 14, in a football game against Ganado, C.J. Clements' senior season was in question. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear and was sidelined for the rest of the football season and possibly the entire athletic year.

Mustangs escape EC JV
      It took extra innings to determine a victor between El Campo's junior varsity baseball team and Lamar Consolidated Thursday in Rosenberg. Instead of the usual seven innings, this game was over in nine. The Mustangs escaped with a 3-2 win over a tough El Campo team that was in it the entire game.
