Junior Buying and Construction First place junior winners at the Wharton County 4-H Fashion Show in buying and construction categories are (l-r) Samuel Cerny of El Campo, Abbie Holder of Louise, Britney Orsak, Sara Zahn and Paiton Kalina of Wharton and Kate Cheney of Boling.
Wharton County 4-H members put their skills to the test in the annual Wharton County Fashion Show Friday, March 14 at Crescent Hall.

Objectives of the fashion show are to recognize 4-H members who have excelled in clothing projects and exhibit skills in the following areas: application of knowledge of fibers and fabrics to wardrobe selection; clothing construction or comparison shopping; fashion interpretation and understanding of style; good grooming and poise; and modeling and presentation of themselves and their garments.

A 4-H member has the choice of entering the category of purchasing or constructing a garment. Categories for juniors and intermediates to participate in are active wear, casual, dressy and specialty. Senior categories are casual, dressy, formal and specialty. Members may also participate in the fashion and fabric design division. All first, second and third place winners will advance to the District 11 4-H Fashion Show in Edna on April 26.
