Agnes Hogan Agnes Reznicek Hogan, 84, of Flatonia passed away at St. Mark's Medical Center in La Grange March 10, 2008 following a brief illness. She was born March 2, 1924 in Mount Olive, Texas to Prokop and Mary Mraz Reznicek. She married James E. Hogan July 9, 1942 at Yoakum and they raised nine children. She loved to sew and tend her garden. Mrs. Hogan was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in El Campo. At 50 she began working at El Campo Aluminum where she worked 11 years then retired. After retirement, she moved to Prairie Village in El Campo where she developed wonderful friendships that she spoke of often. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ann Owen of Moulton, Rose Humphreys of Ganado, Cathy Owen of El Campo and Joan Dornak of Flatonia; sons, James J. Hogan of Dequincy, La., Clyde "Toby" Hogan of Simonton, Charles Hogan of El Campo, David Hogan of Woodsboro and John Hogan of El Campo; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brother, Joe Mraz; three infant siblings (Frankie and Adella Reznicek and one unnamed Reznicek), one infant grandson; and two infant great-grandsons (Tyler Shawn Emmons and Owen Lewis Fowler). A rosary was held Wednesday, March 12 at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia. Services were held Thursday, March 13 at Sacred Heart Church in Flatonia with the Rev. Joe Hybner officiating. Pallbearers were Jacob, Kenneth, Bill and Jonathon Hogan, Alan Huggins, Murphy Carriere, Will Owen and Andrew Longoria with Louis Carriere as honorary pallbearer. She was laid to rest at Salem Cemetery in Ezzell, Texas. |
