City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

Eduardo Tellez Dominguez, 24, of 812 W. Fifth was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Saturday, March 29 on charges of driving while intoxicated - second offense, no driver's license and no insurance, after police saw him allegedly speeding, passing illegally and swerving. He was convicted of DWI in 2004. Dominguez was transferred to Wharton County Jail and released at noon the same day on $4,000 bond.

Claxton Ray Butler-Norman, 18, of 521 E. Cedar in Edna was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, March 30 on charges of possession of 2 ounces or less of marijuana and minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage, after being stopped for failing to signal and having a bad brake light. He was transferred to county jail the same day.

Violence, weapons

Charles Lane Shorter Jr., 35, of 1217 Alice Ave. was arrested at 12:08 a.m. Monday, March 31 on a charge of assault - family violence after allegedly punching a woman in the mouth, causing her to bleed. He was released at 10 a.m. the same day on $2,500 bond.

Other

Natasha Dawn Baker Perkins, 34, or 1307 Ella was arrested at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, March 27 on warrants for failure to appear, failure to provide proof of rabies vaccination, speeding, no seat belt, failure to provide proof of animal license, pedestrian failed to yield and public intoxication. She was released the same day on a payment plan for $1,107 in fines.

Jose Gregorio Olvera, 28, of 922 N. Liberty was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Friday, March 28 on warrants for failure to appear, no insurance and failure to report change of address/name and two warrants for speeding, after being arrested by a Precinct 2 constable. He was released the next day after paying $1,661.10 in fines.

Simon Landaverde Olvera, 28, of 802 First in Louise was arrested at 11:37 p.m. Friday, March 28 on warrants for failure to appear and exhibition of speed. He was released the next day on $687.53 bond.

Marcus Lee Reyes, 29, of CR 310 in El Campo was arrested at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, March 29 on a Wharton County warrant for criminal mischief, warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver's license, no insurance and expired registration. He was released at 10:30 p.m. the same day on $2,500 bond.

Roberto Gomez Sandoval, 31, of 1014 E. Calhoun was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, March 29 on a charge of failure to identify - fugitive from justice, four warrants for public intoxication and warrants for no driver's license and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. He was released the next day after posting $3,000 bond.
