City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

A 12-year-old El Campo girl was arrested at 3:33 p.m. Monday, March 31 on charge of possession of 2 ounces or less of marijuana while at El Campo Middle School. She was released the same day to the custody of a relative.

Leticia Martinez Mulford, 39, of 1411 Ave. E was arrested at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday, April 1 on warrants for issuance of a bad check and animal at large. She was released the next day after paying $460.75 in fines.

Steven Torres, 34, of 1106 Ave. F was arrested at 12:41 a.m. Wednesday, April 2 on charges of burglary of a habitation and public intoxication. He allegedly broke a door window on Erin Street and tried to barge inside, but was stopped by the resident. He was transferred to Wharton County Jail the same day and held on $15,500 bond as of 4 p.m. April 3.

Violence, weapons

Edward Ramos Jr., 49, of Palacios was arrested at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday, April 1 by Palacios police on an El Campo warrant for indecency with a child - sexual contact. He was in custody at Matagorda County Jail at presstime.

Other

Patricia Lynn Vasquez, 23, of P.O. Box 992 was arrested at 2:57 a.m. Sunday, March 30 on warrants for running a red light and no insurance and two warrants for issuance of a bad check. She remained in custody at presstime.

Louis Bustamante Jr., 42, of 504 Ellwood was arrested at 7:51 p.m. Sunday, March 30 on warrants for failure to appear, speeding and no insurance. He was released the same day on a payment plan for $1,156.04 in fines.

Guillermo Olguin Colchado, 27, of 208 Highland was arrested at 9:49 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 on a warrant for failure to stop and give information and a charge of no driver's license. He was released the same day after paying $348.63 in fines.

City Incidents Property

Lillian McNeal reported theft of an iPod Nano and case worth $255 at 10:07 a.m. Thursday, March 27 while at El Campo High School, 600 W. Norris.

Gene Gordon of Victoria reported theft of $2,907 in DVDs at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Wal-Mart Supercenter, 3413 West Loop.

Kristine Cochrum reported criminal mischief at 2706 Sue between 12:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27. Vandals did $125 damage to a door lock and window panes.

Rafael Solis reported a burglary at 1311 Heights Ave. between 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 25 and 8 a.m. Thursday, March 27. Vandals stole a $300 Craftsman leaf blower.

Reyna's Pastries & Coffee Shop, 1111 N. Mechanic, reported vandals did $900 damage to windows and a door between 4:28 and 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 2.

A 34-year-old Wharton man reported aggravated assault with a knife in the 300 block of South Wharton Street between 2:25 and 2:35 p.m. Monday, March 31.

Ronnie Pfeffer Jr. reported burglary of a vehicle parked at 28348 U.S. 59 South between 12:18 and 12:21 a.m. Thursday, March 20. Burglars took a 9mm Beretta valued at $600 and a Garmin GPS worth $550, as well as ammunition and tools worth an additional $500.

Farryl Holub reported vandals did $1,200 damage to two 12-foot metal gates at a farm at CR 410 and CR 403 between 5 and 7 p.m. Friday, March 21.

Norma Sosa reported theft of an $1,800 Intruder go-cart from a home at 1132 Ellwood between 8 p.m. Sunday, March 23 and 2 p.m. Monday, March 24.

County Jail Bookings Alcohol, drugs

Aaron Roy Ermis, 22, of 907 N. Washington was booked at 6:15 a.m. Friday, March 28 for driving while intoxicated. He was released at 3:15 p.m. the same day on $2,500 bond.

Norman Butler, 18, of 521 Cedar in Edna was booked into Wharton County Jail at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, March 30 for possession of marijuana and minor in possession (alcohol). He was released at 12:20 p.m. the same day on $2,000 bond.

Property

Larry Carbaugh, 58, of 2908 Lindale was booked Tuesday, April 1 on warrants for theft by check and issuing a bad check. He was released at 11:55 a.m. the same day on $620 bond.

Other

Ray Sosa, 44, of 608 E. West was booked Wednesday, March 26 for bond forfeiture. He was held on $2,500 bond as of 3 p.m. Thursday, March 27.

Rusty Allen Winzenried, 20, of 636 CR 390 in El Campo was booked Thursday, March 27 for probation violation. He was held without bond as of 3 p.m. Thursday, March 27.

Brian Torres, 17, of 131 Alley in Glen Flora was booked Monday, March 31 for bond forfeiture. He was held as of 4 p.m. Thursday, April 3.

Jesus M. Martinez, 18, of 211 Higbee was booked at 8:02 a.m. Wednesday, April 2 for capias pro fines, violating a city ordinance, minor in possession (alcohol), failure to identify and public intoxication. He was held on $2,500 bond as of 4 p.m. the next day.

Jail population as of 4 p.m. Thursday, April 3 was 105 prisoners.
