Remembering Mary
Beautifying Hutchins Elementary
Mary Rosenfield, a pillar of the community, was remembered by the El Campo Garden Club with an oak tree planted at Hutchins Elementary Wednesday, April 2. Her daughter, Ileene Robinson, left, was present for the dedication, with Garden Club member Patsy Korenek, right, who did the honors of saying a few words about the late Rosenfield, an outstanding charter member of the club. "She achieved many things in her lifetime, because she was not afraid to step out of the box and speak out for those who could not," said Korenek. "Once she took on a project, she saw it to its completion." Thanks to Tree Town, R.L. Shelly and the El Campo ISD, the planting of the tree was made possible in Rosenfield's memory. She was named El Campo Citizen of the Year for all her charitable work. Several club members were present for the ceremony.
