Esperanza Garcia

Esperanza Garcia,79, of El Campo, died Thursday, April 3, 2008.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1929 in Mexico to Ruperto and Mercedes Chapa Garza. She was a member of Mission Bethel and served as the church secretary and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her son, Mario A. Garcia of El Campo; daughters, Martha J. Givins of Penbrooke Pines, Fla., Mercedes Garcia of El Campo and Elda Garcia Burroughs of Louise; brother, Gilberto Garza of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan Garcia Jr. and sons, Rudolpho and Carlos Garcia.

Visitation will begin Sunday, April 6 at 1 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Monday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at Triska Funeral Home with the Rev. Ramiro Jaime officiating. Interment will follow at La Colonia Cemetery.
