IMUD board may hire new attorney

This month's Isaacson Municipal Utility District board meeting should move along quickly, with only one item of new business on tomorrow's agenda.

IMUD directors are set to accept the resignation of attorney Charles L. "Charlie" Michulka, who was hired in April 2006 to represent the board after Wharton attorney Dennis Morgan left the position.

"He had a conflict with representing IMUD and his work with other clients," said IMUD manager Wanda Evanicky.

The board will go into closed executive session to discuss hiring Jason Ryan as the district's new attorney. If any action is taken on the hiring, it will occur in open session.

IMUD directors' only other items for discussion are the routine approval of minutes, the financial report and bills.

IMUD meets at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at the district's office at 403 N. Liberty. The meeting is open to the public.
