Allegations ranging from drunken driving to drug offenses will have several Wharton County residents facing charges in felony court in coming months.

The Wharton County Grand Jury handed down an assortment of indictments during their April deliberations.

A grand jury indictment is not an indication of guilt, but rather a citizen jury's agreement that a prosecutor has enough evidence to proceed with felony charges.

Those indicted include:

• Raquel Almanzar, 34, of 1014 E. Calhoun in El Campo for driving while intoxicated third or more offense. She allegedly drove drunk Jan. 5.

Almanzar has two prior misdemeanor DWI convictions.

• Delfino Alvarez, 27, of 604 Oscar in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine on Dec. 15, 2007.

• Bryan Anderson, 28, of 1608 Connie in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of phencyclidine (PCP) within 1,000 feet of a Wharton school.

• Adam Andrade, 21, of 5119 FM 1096 in Boling for engaging in organized criminal activity. He allegedly collaborated with two other people to commit forgery (checks) on Sept. 5, 2007.

• Demond Bluntson, 32, of 803 Dunlap in El Campo for tampering with evidence. He allegedly attempted to destroy a bag containing marijuana during a Nov. 27, 2007 pursuit.

Bluntson has four prior felony convictions for delivery of a controlled substance.

• Melvin Monroe Brigham, 50, of 5009 Laura Koppe in Houston for failure to register as a sex offender and aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Convicted of indecency with a child, he reportedly failed to obtain a yearly renewable driver's license on June 10, 2007 as required by law as registration as a sex offender.

Brigham is also accused of a Nov. 4, 1999 act of sexual intercourse involving a girl under the age of 14.

• Ernest Dwain Calhoun, 49, of 7523 Hawes in Hungerford for two counts of child abandonment and two counts of child endangering. He allegedly left two children under the age of 15 unsupervised at home with a burner on for heat in the winter time on Dec. 21, 2007.

• Arthuro Roberto Castillo, 33, of 6711 Gwyneth in Boling for injury to a child. He allegedly struck a child under the age of 14 on Jan. 3.

• Jose Nicolas Delagua, 38, of 723 S. Alice in El Campo for driving while intoxicated and endangering a child. He allegedly drove drunk on Dec. 29, 2007 with a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle.

• Steven Warren Fenton, 51, of 310 Gibson for possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly possessed less than 1 gram of cocaine on Feb. 28.

• Princeton Jamar Foley, 22, of 906 E. Hillje in El Campo for delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. He allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine within 1,000 feet of the playground of an El Campo park.

• Brandon Gardner, 26, of 906 E. Hillje for tampering with evidence. He allegedly attempted to conceal marijuana during a police pursuit on Jan. 10.

• Erica Lynn Garza, 36, of 1823 Stadium Road in Wharton for theft. She allegedly stole more than $1,500 in currency from a Wharton business on Nov. 9, 2007.

• Ricky Garza, 19, of 624 Bell in Wharton for burglary of a habitation. He allegedly broke into a Wharton home on Dec. 2, 2007 with the intent to commit an assault of the female occupant.

• Alexander Gonzales, 38, of 808 Hayden in El Campo for aggravated kidnapping. He allegedly kidnapped a woman with the intention to commit theft on Feb. 17.

• Hector Hernandez Jr., 21, of 336 Agnes in El Campo for sexual assault of a child. The incident allegedly involved a girl under the age of 17 on March 1, 2007.

• T.J. Hill III, 21, of Rt. 1, Box 43 (CR 243) in Wharton for burglary of a habitation and two counts of theft of a firearm. He allegedly broke into a home Jan. 6, 2007 stealing assorted video tapes and two handguns.

• Shameka Shamonque Houston, 27, of 311 Ninth in Beasley for two counts of fraudulent use of identifying information. She allegedly used another person's name and Social Security number on July 10, 2006.

• Jamale Rashad Johnson, 21, of 3415 Kurkendall in Beasley for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated robbery, evading with a motor vehicle and three counts of retaliation. He allegedly used a tire tool to strike a woman on Nov. 25, 2007. On the same day, he is accused of using a tire tool to threaten a man while stealing from him; fleeing from a Wharton police officer and threatening to kill three witnesses.

• Alfredia Kimble, 24, of 2910 Old Lane City Road #F-6 for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. She allegedly had less than 1 gram of phencyclidine (PCP) within 1,000 feet of a Wharton school on Aug. 5, 2007.

• Patricia Luna, 31, of 116 Sinclair in Boling for engaging in organized criminal activity. She allegedly collaborated with two other people to commit forgery on Sept. 5, 2007.

• Samantha Nicole Martinez, 18, of 1111 Merchant in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence. She allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine on March 8 and attempted to hide it during a pursuit.

• Deborah Mozisek, 30, of 116 B Elm in Boling for engaging in organized criminal activity. She allegedly collaborated with two other people to commit forgery (checks) on Sept. 5, 2007.

• Haralabos Sotiris Panagiotopoulos, 19, of 1110 Pinchot in El Campo for tampering with a governmental record. He allegedly changed the birth date on a temporary driving permit on Jan. 11.

• Angel Gabriel Polanco, 22, of 1336 Blanche Dr. SE in Marieta, Ga. for possession of a controlled substance, the intent to deliver it and unlawful possession of a criminal instrument.

He allegedly had more than 400 grams of cocaine on Feb. 2 with the intent to sell.

Palanco was also allegedly in possession of a makeshift compartment to conceal the contraband.

• Crecensio Juarez Ramirez, 43, of an unknown address on North Wharton Street in El Campo for two counts of burglary of a habitation. He allegedly broke into an El Campo home on Feb. 22 with the intent to commit an assault and a sexual assault.

• Jessica Ramirez, 31, of 7811 Hawes in Hungerford for injury to a child. She allegedly used a broom stick to strike a child under the age of 14 in the face on Oct. 19, 2007.
