Crescent ex-students have reunion

As ex-students of Crescent School gathered for their reunion March 29, a fifties theme completed the setting at WCYF Crescent Hall. Under the leadership of school president Rozell Peikert Giesie, business was kept to a minimum with plenty of time for visiting and reminiscing.

Bringing back some of their hometown favorites to the spotlight, they presented a plaque of appreciation to Betty Parr Muegge, who had taught for a number of years when attendees were students at Crescent Elementary. Also former ag teacher D.D. Hill was congratulated on being chosen El Campo Citizen of the Year.

Sixty-year classes, as well as the honor classes of 1957 and

58 who were celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation, were presented with ceramic Texas-shaped magnets with Crescent engraved on the front.

The next reunion will be in 2010. Money contributed by the ex-students will be given as a scholarship to a college student each year.
