Novosad speaks on 5 Star Fair Fund

Members of the El Campo Junior-Senior 4-H Club held their monthly meeting Monday, April 7 at Christ Lutheran Church in El Campo.

President Alexis Cooper called the meeting to order. Taylor Hernandez led the group with the Pledge of Allegiance and Stephanie Mahoney led the group with the 4-H Pledge.

Ralph Novasad was a guest speaker who gave a presentation on the 5 Star Fair Fund and how they operate in supporting children with their fair projects.

Members were advised to have their 4-H participation form turned in to the extension office prior to April 18 to receive excused absences for the week of the fair.

Members of our club were asked to sign up to pin lapel pins on the buyers at the Sale of Excellence during the fair.

The club voted to have a June meeting in place of the May meeting because it fell during fair week. The June meeting will be held on June 2 and will probably be a bowling party along with the election of officers for the next school year.

One of the group's leaders, Kim Cooper, will be checking on having t-shirts made for our members to wear during the fair and she will contact you with the price and obtain sizes at that time.

The meeting was ended and the members enjoyed ice cream provided by fellow members.
