Safety, security on LISD agenda Louise school trustees will take a peek at next year's budget and talk about security and safety when they meet Monday night. On the agenda for the Louise ISD board is a discussion of security and safety issues at the sprawling campus. Superintendent Andy Peters and the board have long expressed concern about the many entries to the district's campus. The board will also talk about the current and coming year's budgets. Among the topics for discussion are revenue changes, salaries and benefits and the impact of rising fuel, food and utility costs on the budgets. The Wharton County Central Appraisal District is asking the district to pay a share of costs for new software and hardware, part of changes at that office that include a new building, which the district has already agreed to help fund. Trustees will also consider buying or leasing a new bus, setting days of service for the coming school year, and in closed executive session, personnel employment and resignations. If any decisions arise from closed session, they will occur in a subsequent open session. The board meets for the workshop at 6 p.m. and its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 21 in the district's meeting room, in the administration building at 408 Second in Louise. Board meetings are open to the public. |
