LaVerne Bain

LaVerne "Granny" Bain, 70, of Louise, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at her home.

She was born July 24, 1937 in Jackson County to William Clyde and Bertha Nell Emerson Budd. She was a retired teacher's aide, child care provider and a member of First Baptist Church of Louise.

Survivors include her son, Mark Bain and wife Mandy of Louise; daughter-in-law, (widow of Billy) Darlene Bain of Louise; grandchildren, Wendy Crain and husband Danny, Clint Bain, Bryant Rowton, Nikki Bain, Andrea Smith and husband Jordan and Alena Stryk; great-grandchildren, Kyler and Morgan Crane.

Funeral services will be today, Saturday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home with the Rev. Gail Baublet and the Rev. Larry Van Hook officiating. Burial will follow at the Bain Family Cemetery in Louise. The family received friends yesterday, April 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Michael Koudela, Paul Koudela, Chris Koudela, Dwayne Courville, Ricky Yackel, Darrell Sless, Fred Garrett and Keith Bain.

Honorary pallbearers are Danny, Wendy, Kyler and Morgan Crane, Clint Bain, Bryant Rowton, Nikki Bain, Stacey Supak, Jordan and Andrea Smith, Alena Stryk, Sylvia Nielsen, Evalynn Bunk and all of Gran's "kids."

Memorial donations in memory of LaVerne Bain may be made to Hospice Support Care or to First Baptist Church of Louise.
