City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

Robert Isabel Perez, 17, of 809 Dunlap was arrested at 10:20 a.m. Monday, April 21 on a charge of possession of 2 ounces or less of marijuana and warrants for no white light on bicycle and no bicycle registration. He remained in custody at presstime.

Keshia Burndette Ellis, 39, of Houston was arrested at 6:36 p.m. Saturday, April 19 on five warrants for issuance of a bad check after being stopped for speeding. She was transferred to Wharton County Jail the next day and held as of 1 p.m. April 21.

Lisa McAfee Bailey, 45, of 410 Bluebonnet Lane was arrested at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, April 20 on three warrants for issuance of a bad check and charges of permitting an unlicensed driver to drive and no insurance. A police officer had to swerve to avoid a head-on collision on North Wharton Street after a vehicle crossed into his lane, and when he stopped the car, he found a 13-yearold driving it, and Bailey in the front passenger seat. She was released the same day on $1,709.46 bond.

Francisco Martinez Jr., 33, of 408 S. Mechanic was arrested at 12:09 a.m. Saturday, April 19 on two warrants each for failure to appear, public intoxication and speeding, three warrants for no insurance, warrants for unrestrained child under age 2, sale of alcohol to a minor and running a red light and charges of public intoxication and impeding/obstructing traffic. He was released at 12:40 p.m. April 19 on $2,000 bond.

Jesus Ortiz, 23, of 202 West Loop was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Sunday, April 20 on warrants for failure to appear and speeding and a charge of no insurance. He was released the same day on $851.25 bond.

City Incidents Property

Amanda Appling reported theft of a black Smith and Wesson .45 worth $630 from a residence at 706 E. Jackson between 6 and 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16.

County Jail Bookings Violence, weapons

Ricardo Herrera, 31, of 1310 Eveline was booked Monday, April 21 for assault-family violence. He was released at 10:20 a.m. April 21 on $2,500 bond.

Other

Fernando Ramirez Espinosa, 48, of 211 Pecan was booked at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 19 for criminal trespass. He was held on $2,500 bond as of 1 p.m. Monday, April 21.

Jail population as of 1 p.m. Monday, April 21 was 116 prisoners.
