Party honors Albert & Barbara Socha on their 40th wedding anniversary

Albert and Barbara Socha celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 19 at the El Campo Volunteer Fire Department Training Facility.
The party was hosted by Kathy and Amber Socha, Bubba, Patsy, Brittany and Bethany Baker, Emil and Betty Staff and Brett, Becky and Shay Fredrickson.
The registry table covered with a white lace cloth held a photograph of the couple, a picture of their hands 40 years ago and a picture of their hands today, along with a vase of fresh flowers, registry book and pen.
An additional white lace cloth-covered table held a fresh spring floral arrangement, twotiered wedding cake decorated with red carnations and the cake top was the original cake piece of the bride and groom. The groom's cake was three cakes decorated to depict his occupation and hobbies. The cakes were made by the couple's daughter, Kathy Socha.
A pastry table, also covered in a white lace cloth, held cheese and poppy seed rolls, strudels, vegetable tray, mints, strawberries, punch and coffee.
A meal of fried chicken, rice, gravy, corn, green beans and tea were served. Guest enjoyed viewing scrapbooks including photos of the couple's past compiled by daughter Becky Fredrickson.
Guests were also entertained by music provided by Richard Staha. Albert has been a selfemployed carpenter for 45 years and Barbara is a supervisor for the new ICM for 40 years.
